what is a good movie I could buy for family entertainment?
My son has down syndrome and autism he liked Jumanji and Pirates of the Caribbean I would like to have him stay out in the family room with us tonight after dinner instead of going to his room ( that is his routine) to watch his movies. Any good ides would help. What are some of your family favorites?
So far I have had 8 answers and we have all of those movies. I was hoping for something out of the ordinary something different that you might know of. You all are great though thanks for your help!
The boy in the striped pajamas was a good one for my family. However, I think that your son would probably like the movie Snow Day. In fact you will all love it, it is incredibly funny even for me who does not laugh easily. check it out.

My 9-year-old (highly functioning autistic) loved Transformers, Wall E, and Madagascar. And we enjoyed them all, too.

-Click is such a good Movie!
-Marley and Me. It’s a funny, but a little bit sad too.
- Cheaper by The Dozen (1 & 2)
- Yours, Mine and Ours
It sounds like he likes action,
So maybe some of the Indiana Jones movies, or possibly Spiderman
EDIT:
- Harry Potter (You should probably get the first one though since it may be hard to follow if you get one of the newer ones)
- Zathura is similar to Jumanji (the kids are playing a game and stuff happens to them as they play it.. it’s space themed)
- The Neverending Story, It’s a little old I remember it from when I was little but that’s different.
- The Shrek Movies

you need to slowly transition him over to watching movies with you. once a child with D.S knows his schedule they keep it, kinda a security thing. maybe take those 2 movies and hide them(it works) and tell him you are going to watch a movie together. and give him two choices. (ie toy story or beauty and the beast) that way he feels he has some control over what is happening. like i said before slowly start transiting him.
