What is killing my fish?
In the last couple of weeks, i have had a few fish die or disapear.
First of all a silver shark just disapeared, then i found a blue gourami dead and half eaten at the bottom and this morning i found the same with my tiger barb and i lost a baby clown loach.
In my tank i have 2 silver sharks, 3 tiger barbs, 3 corydoras, 3 clownloaches, 3 cuckoo catfish, 2 plecos, 1 gourami, 1 firemouth cichlid, 1 Convict cichlid, 2 small albino oscars and 2 jack dempseys.
Before i go any further, my jack dempseys used to be in a tank with oscars 3 times their size for a few months and got bullied and are now mentally scared and dont chase or kill fish.
The oscars i have now wont kill the fish because the firemouth and one of the jack dempseys keep them under control and the fish that have been killed are to big.
They are also scared of most fish in the tank and dont stand up for themselves, yet.
I think its 1 of the jack dempseys or the cuckoo catfish because the catfish are night hunters and i find the fish dead in the mornings.
I personally think its the catfish because the jack dempsey has never hurt another fish except the other jack dempsey and sometimes the oscars.
And also the jack dempsey wont just eat part of the fish, they will swallow it whole and not eat little bits like the eyes and the insides.
Its not that i need a filter, obviously i have one and i dont smoke.
There is such thing as a oscar that wont kill, my dad owned 2 10inch ones and they never even ate neons and mine arent big enough to kill my tiger barbs yet and they arent brave enough because of my firemouth bullying them.
and with the jack dempseys, you either get agressive ones or peaceful ones and i have one peaceful one and one semi agresive one.
I think its the catfish, i was watching them last night when i turned the light off and they were very active and seemed to be stalking some of my fish.
need the tank size ammonia and nitrite readings
